Who is Cool Australia?

What is online professional development?

Online professional development includes courses and workshops that are delivered over the Internet. They help teachers build their confidence, knowledge and skills from the comfort of their chair.

Who can enrol in a course?

Anyone can enrol in a course. Our courses support early childhood educators, service managers, beginning/student teachers, primary teachers, secondary teachers, casual relief teachers, school leaders and people who work with early childhood services and schools.

What does a course involve?

You can access the course anytime and from anywhere. You will set your own pace to participate in short activities that include watching videos, reading case studies, exploring resources and reflecting on your teaching. All lessons are for private study. You’ll get a course handout that summarises key content and your course teacher is there to help.

How long does a course take to complete?

Courses take 1 or 2 hours in total to complete. You will have ongoing access from your enrolment date so you can complete it at times that suit you.

Are the courses accredited for professional development hours?

Yes! Each course is mapped to AITSL’s Australian Professional Standards for Teachers. We will accredit your hours within 30 days of the completion of the course.
Accreditation details are written on each course’s page and on each course’s flyer. You will receive a certificate acknowledging professional development hours once you complete a course.

Do I need any special software?

All you need is an Internet connection and a browser like Internet Explorer, Chrome, Safari or Firefox. You’ll also need access to the YouTube and Vimeo websites so you can watch course videos.

How do I register?

Already have a Cool Australia or Enviroweek account? Click the LOGIN button in the top right hand corner of your screen.
New to Cool Australia? Click on the JOIN button. You’ll receive a confirmation email after registration.

Can I use my Cool Australia login to enrol in a course?

Absolutely. Your Cool Australia login gives you access to our online courses, curriculum materials and Enviroweek resources.

What happens if I’ve forgotten my password?

Click the LOGIN button and then ‘Lost your password?’. Enter your email address and we’ll send you a link so you can reset your password.

How do I enrol in a course?

Choose a course that interests you. Click on PURCHASE THIS COURSE and complete the form in the Checkout area. You will have instant access to the course.

How many courses can I enrol in at a time?

There is no limit. You will have ongoing access to your course. Courses take 1 or 2 hours to complete.

How much do courses cost?

You’ll see the price on each course page. Any profits from online courses go back into Cool Australia so we can continue to support Aussie teachers.

What payment methods can I use?

Payment is made by credit card. Email [email protected] if you require special payment arrangements. All course prices are inclusive of GST.

How can I see the receipts for my courses?

You will receive an email receipt and you can also see the receipt details on your My Account page.

How can I ask a question?

Contact your course teacher anytime by clicking on the CONTACT COURSE TEACHER button. You can also call Cool Australia on 1300 853 810 or email [email protected].

How do I give feedback or make a complaint?

At the end of each course, you will be asked to complete a short evaluation to let us know your feedback. You can also contact your teacher by clicking the CONTACT COURSE TEACHER button. If you have a complaint, please email the details to [email protected]. We’ll get back to you within 5 business days.

How will my personal information be used?

The privacy of your personal information is of paramount importance to us. Click here to view our Privacy Policy.

Does Cool Australia provide keynote addresses or face-to-face workshops?

We spend most of our time delivering professional development online as we feel that this is the best way for us to support educators. Occasionally, we can make it to an event. Email us your request at [email protected] or call 1300 853 810.
